We’re announcing a collaboration with the US-based ABCD organisation Embrace Communities to deliver a course centred on the often-overlooked sixth asset of asset-based community development—cultural assets. This advanced (201) course equips practitioners with the skills to develop community-led creative projects. In it, participants will delve into the history and values of the community arts movement, explore how creativity and imagination can drive meaningful change, and gain practical tools to integrate arts-based approaches into their ABCD practice. This course will be useful for ABCD practitioners who want to develop more creative and arts-focused action, as well as cultural practitioners and institutions interested in strengthening asset-based approaches to their work.
